Indeed, amid his rivalry with Igor Bossy, his killer campaign slogan, and dreams of victory, underlying AJ’s story was the importance of taking the time to rethink before hitting send. Even his hero, Mr. Mouth—an adult who “should’ve known better”—got carried away online, in an environment that made it easy to do the wrong thing. Unable to see the folks he was speaking to, his anger boiled over. Later, Mr. Mouth tried to take the comments back, but screenshots were already circulating all over the internet with the hashtag “#MouthOff”—the damage was done. Had he taken a moment to pause and rethink, he could’ve saved his reputation—and the election!
